How to Take the Bus to the Genomics Institute

The Genomics Institute is located in the Engineering 2 Building, on Science Hill at UC Santa Cruz, near the intersection of McLaughlin and Heller Drives. It is best accessed from the West Entrance of the campus.

Directions to the Genomics Institute from Area Airports

Directions from area airports are available here. For ground transportation from the airport, you can rent a car, take the bus, or hire a shuttle.
To get around Santa Cruz, call Yellow Cab,

Shuttles:   Blue Water Sedans & Early Bird Shuttle

Bus: The Highway 17 Express connects to university through local buses at Santa Cruz Metro Center.


Parking at UC Santa Cruz requires a permit. 
Please talk to the Genomics Institute before your visit to clarify how to get your parking permit.

Bike Routes and Bike Parking at UC Santa Cruz


For a listing of local hotels, inns, and bed & breakfasts, go to Santa Cruz County Lodging Search. One popular place to stay is the beach-front hotel, The Dream Inn, 175 West Cliff Drive. If you stay at the Dream Inn, you can get to campus by taking Bay Street, which is the road that heads away from the bay, directly in front of the hotel.
